Alpaca Love...

A while back, while watching a Project Runway marathon (when is season 6 starting, btw), I saw a commercial for these amazing animals... Alpacas. I had never heard of them, but apparently, for the price of a 1998 Honda Civic, you can be the proud owner of a lovely Alpaca. So of course I sent away for some information on these animals, and although i do not own a ranch for them to roam, I am convinced that one day I will own an alpaca of my own. It's really worth it to be on the Alpaca mailing list. They send awesome photos that that you can put on the fridge and it almost feels like owning one. We like to name them and make up stories about them. Tina is on the fridge right now, and boy is she a beaut. Her BF Earl is real lucky to have her...

So I have attempted surfing a few times. Convinced myself that I wont get eaten by a shark and gone out further than knee deep so that i could really try it. I've paddled successfully and even managed to stand up on the board. But i always manage to get knocked off and hit in the head with the board. But... when it gets a little warmer, I'm gonna give it another go. And after my successful surf I'm gonna play drums with The Japanese Motors in the water.

i am a lover, and therefore i love chinatown. and you might be wondering why i love chinatown? simple. because i love useless cheap stuff (like the super cool and cute pencil case and pencils), and the best food to ever exist on the face of the universe. that's right, i'm confident that it's better than anything that's ever been served on any other planet (is is getting too late or is this making any sense..or maybe im just on crack? haha).

anyway i'm driving up to the bay area tomorrow for some delicious holiday eatin', and am feeling a little bit homesick of all the good asian food up there.

speaking of going home, my parents are ancient and don't have internet connection, so MY contribution to out little baby blog will be slightly minimal...but maybe i'll be lucky and post from my guatemalan bean-hating boy friends house. :)

(december's thursday night thing)

also known as TNT...well it was so amazingly cool (its in San Diego on the first Thursday of every month. This art show's theme was an eco-chick fashion show. Being from Berkeley, I was all over it, and maureen being way cool, was all over it too. The designs were so awesome, and i kind of loved everything they had, just because all clothing was crafted from recycled fabrics! i wish i had pictures to post, but we kind of forgot the camera, and were stuck with mo's iphone, which didn't work out so well.



anyways, this show really inspired me, i love to sew (i could do it for, just about....forever!) and i hope to sew some stuff from all the old fabric and clothes that i have lying around, so much fun!! This is just a silly little drawing of a dress fabric that needs to become something cute and wearable, and now that finals have stopped bugging me, i and totally making something out of it...and then selling it on my etsy account! woohoo!

Tomorrow... me and my BF are going on a yard sale adventure. This is truly one of my new favorite things to do. I have compiled a list of yard sales to venture to tomorrow and will defff post about my awesome new treasures. Thats what this hobby should be called... hunting for treasure. Like pirates. We are modern day pirates on Saturday mornings. Arrrrghhh!!!

okay, officially i am over finals and finally back in the real world and caught up on sleep. annnd i basically have come out of my cave to discover that...baBAM it's Christmas time!! Mo is certianly right, we looove (as in WE LUH IT TO DEAF, SISTA) the holidays! we had some pretty sad (also known as my gingerbread house) attempts at making these festive little housies, and some jawesome ones (see Maureen's, holy crap, its b-e-a-utiful). All in all it was fun, and the hu-nourmous amount of California Rain all over is making it so wintery...finallly. WOOHOO!

All this gift wrapping and stuff is really making me love this time of year. what do you guys like to do for the holidays? any funky traditions we can adopt? cause i love funky traditions, like, you know, decking out my car in festive wreaths and lights...

Nat and I love Christmas. Like lovvvvvvvve it. We made gingerbread houses/mansions the other night. We are going to Christmas Card Lane (this crazy christmas/light/carolers/awesome) extravaganza on Sunday.

But... San Diego doesn't really get much snow. So we don't get to make awesome snow art every year. I am hoping to get to go up to the mountains or somewhere wintery this year (only been in snow once in my life and it wasn't a lot). So since I'm not in snow all the time, I extra appreciate stuff like this. We see art all over electrical boxes and stuff here,which is super cool, but snow art on mailboxes=extra awesome.

Other Ways To De-Stress

Besides The Album Leaf, the other best way to destress... shopping. This little Marc Jacobs dress is just about the most adorable thing I've EVER seen. Soooo Betty Draper (if you dont know who I'm talking about... see 5 posts down). Besides... shopping is just my way of contributing to our flailing economy and looking good at the same time. Win-Win Situation.

holy crap, has anyone else been hit by the awesome realization that it is almost 2009? i mean seriously...when years start to go by super duper high-speed fast, it makes you feel like your really putting on the years. ha. GOOD GAWD i cant wait until i am twenty one, two thousand nine is my year baby!

anyways, new years calls for dressing up with class and such. I am planning to go with a little anonymous black dress. which can never fail you right? RIGHT.and you can NEVER fail by sprucing it up with some super duper expensive SHINY SHINY gladiator heels like THESE robert clergeries. I LUHH DEM TO DEAF. seriously, if i made hella money (cause they cost $735.95), these would be on my feet right this minute and i would wear them to bed. Ok... So my biggest guilty pleasure ever is the Rachel Zoe Project. I just heard that a second season was approved and will be coming out sometime in mid 2009. My reason for loving this show so much is because of this lovely fellow. 

Meet Brad... Rachel's much nicer assistant (seriously so much nicer than her other assistant Taylor). 

His "hug me" sweater... I DIE! Plus, anyone that wears a bow tie just because is a-ok in my book.  If i ever see him i would totally try to make him my gay BF.
